In this hands-on workshop, I’ll walk you through the process I use to make sugar cookies and royal icing at home. Throughout the class, I’ll demonstrate each step and share helpful tips so you can feel confident trying it yourself.
During the workshop we will:
• Talk through the ingredients and steps used to make great sugar cookie dough
• Watch a demonstration of the mixing and baking process
• Work in pairs to mix a batch of royal icing
• Hands-on experience adjusting icing to different decorating consistencies
• Practice basic piping and flooding techniques
• Decorate three simple cookies to practice using the icing we make together
This workshop is perfect for beginners or anyone who has been curious about how decorated cookies come together. The focus of the class is learning the process and getting comfortable working with royal icing in a relaxed, supportive setting.

What is the VIP Cookie Party and how do I get invited?
🎉 VIP Cookie Party!
We love our regulars, and we love to celebrate YOU!
Each year, the top 20 class attendees (with at least 3 cookie classes attended between August 1 and July 31) will receive an exclusive invitation to our VIP Cookie Party — a free, fun-filled event packed with cookies, surprises, and appreciation. 💛
🎟️ If more than 20 people qualify, a random drawing will be held to fill any remaining spots.
For example: If 18 people attended 4+ classes and 10 others attended 3, we'll randomly select 2 of those 10 to complete the 20-person guest list.
Watch your inbox in late July to see if you made the list!
I heard the 6th class is free — is that still true?
That promotion is being phased out, but there's still time to take advantage of it! If you complete five paid cookie classes, you can redeem your 6th class for free — as long as it's used by December 31, 2025.
Just let us know when you're ready to redeem it, and we’ll get you signed up for your free spot!
What’s replacing the 6th class free promo?
We’ve launched something even sweeter — the VIP Cookie Party!
Starting with the 2024–2025 cookie class season, our top 20 class attendees (with at least 3 classes attended between August 1 and July 31) will be invited to a free, exclusive celebration packed with cookies, fun, and surprises! 💛
Where can I find the supply list and resources you mentioned in class?
All the resources, tools, and links we talk about during class can be found on the Supply List page
What will I be doing in the class?
You’ll decorate your very own set of cookies to take home! Along the way, we’ll talk cookie facts, practice decorating techniques, and—most importantly—have a blast.
Do I need to know how to bake?
Nope! All cookies are pre-baked and ready for decorating when you arrive.
What will we learn in class?
You'll learn about icing consistencies and how to work with royal icing. Techniques may include marbling, outlining, wet-on-wet, brush embroidery, and painting—depending on the class theme.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself! We provide everything—including cookies, icing, tools, and a box to take them home in. If you tend to get messy, bring an apron. If you wear glasses, definitely bring them—it’s detailed work!
What will I bring home?
You'll leave with a decorated set of cookies in a box, ready to dry over 24–48 hours—and sweet new skills to show off.
Can I register alone or as a group?
Absolutely! Come solo, bring a friend, or sign up as a group. Classes fill fast, so the sooner you register, the better.
Where are the classes held?
Right in the heart of downtown Hartselle, Alabama. It’s a great place to enjoy lunch and explore local shops before or after your class.
What if I signed up and can't attend?
Life happens—we get it. You’re welcome to transfer your seat to a friend or pick up your boxed cookie kit the next day.
How long is the class?
Most classes run around 2 - 2.5 hours. We keep things moving, fun, and just long enough to decorate a beautiful set without overwhelm.
Do you offer private classes or parties?
Yes! I offer private cookie decorating parties for birthdays, showers, team building, and more. Click here to learn more.
Will I be sharing supplies with others?
Most of the time, no! Each participant typically receives their own set of icing bags and decorating tools. Occasionally, if a color is only needed for a small detail (like two tiny eyes!), I may prepare a few shared bags for everyone to use.
Can I bring food or drinks to class?
We keep things simple and sugar-focused. Feel free to bring a drink with a lid, but we ask that no outside food be brought into class.
Do you offer refunds?
Class tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable. If you can't make it, send a friend or pick up your boxed kit the next day!
What age is best for cookie classes?
Our classes are great for almost any age, but the best fit depends on the child and the class. Most classes are 2 to 2.5 hours long and include moderate to detailed decorating work. Kiddos who can stay focused and follow directions during that time typically do well. Unless a class is specifically designed for children, I recommend parents consider whether the child is ready for that kind of experience. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent who also takes the class. If you're not sure, feel free to ask!
Can just my child take the class?
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult taking the class. For older children, drop-off is fine—but space is limited, so no extra spectators, please!
